چکیده

Copper (Cu) is an essential element, however it’s excess into the environment causes detrimental effect on plant and risks for public health. Four Cu drought tolerant 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) deaminase producing rhizobacteria were isolated from roots of Trifolium repens L. growing smelter contaminated soils, characterized identified based 16S rRNA gene sequencing. A consortium high ACC (53.74 μM α-ketobutyrate mg−1 protein h−1) bacteria Pseudomonas sp. strain TR15a + siderophore Bacillus aerophilus TR15c significantly (p < 0.05) produced better results multiple-metal tolerance including (1750 mg kg−1), antibiotic resistance (ampicillin, kanamycin, chloramphenicol, penicillin, tetracycline, streptomycin) growth promoting attributes (phosphate solubilization: 315 L−1, indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) production: 8 ammonia hydrogen cyanide production) as compared to individual isolates. Pot scale experiment (enriched with 100 kg−1) showed inoculation Helianthus annuus seeds had improved seed germination by 32%, total dry biomass 64%, root 47% shoot 75% uninoculated control whereas 0.2−7 fold higher observed above stated parameters four isolates studied. The result suggests B. could play a vital role in enhanced uptake improvement may provide alternative decontamination natural ecosystem than

Drought response of Mucuna pruriens (L.) DC. inoculated with ACC deaminase and IAA producing rhizobacteria

Drought is one of the major constraints limiting agricultural production worldwide and is expected to increase in the future. Limited water availability causes significant effects to plant growth and physiology. Plants have evolved different traits to mitigate the stress imposed by drought. The presence of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) could play an important role in improving pla...

Effect of salinity on seed germination, seedling growth, and inorganic and organic solutes accumulation in sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.)

To investigate the effects of saline stress on seed germination, ion distribution, and organic solutes changes of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.), in the present study, seeds and 3-week-old seedlings were subjected to a series of external NaCl concentrations (5–200 mmol). The results showed that high salinity (200 mmol) remarkably inhibited the germination of seed and delayed germination time ...

Enhanced Accumulation of Copper and Lead in Amaranth (Amaranthus paniculatus), Indian Mustard (Brassica juncea) and Sunflower (Helianthus annuus)

BACKGROUND Soil contamination by copper (Cu) and lead (Pb) is a widespread environmental problem. For phytoextraction to be successful and viable in environmental remediation, strategies that can improve plant uptake must be identified. In the present study we investigated the use of nitrogen (N) fertilizer as an efficient way to enhance accumulation of Cu and Pb from contaminated industrial so...

Crop specific plant growth promoting effects of ACCd enzyme and siderophore producing and cynogenic fluorescent Pseudomonas

Fluorescent Pseudomonas, aerobic, Gram-negative bacteria possess many traits that make them well suited as biocontrol and growth promoting agents. Our study revealed that isolates vary in mechanisms involved in the antagonist interactions against pathogen and growth stimulatory effects on host plant. Most of the potential antagonistic fluorescent Pseudomonas identified were avid iron chelators ...

Effect of Tannery Wastewater on the Growth and Yield of Sunflower (helianthus Annuus L.)

The effects of tanneries wastewater on growth and yield of three cultivars (SF-187, CRN-1435 and DK3915) of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) showed that wastewater was not fit for irrigation due to extremely high mineral and heavy metal contents. In addition, effluents were highly alkaline with high load in EC, BOD, COD and SAR values. The amount of iron, manganese, zinc and chromium was also q...
